David Joel Levine, beloved husband of Judith B. Levine for 53 years, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021 after fighting heart disease for many years.

Born in Poughkeeps­ie, NY on December 7, 1944 to Pearl Eisenhardt Levine and William Levine, he attended elementary and high school in Poughkeeps­ie, NY and then went to St. Bonaventur­e University in Olean, NY on a music scholarshi­p, with his joy being playing saxophone and clarinet.

David and Judy resided in Bloomfield, CT since 1970. He owned Ethan Allen Personnel Placement Agency for over 25 years. After that he worked as Vice President with Curtis Robinson at R & G Services.

His heart was as large as his philanthro­pic efforts and lifelong community work. David received his 50 year Masonic pin from both Sequin-level Lodge #140, Newington, CT and from his lodge in Poughkeeps­ie, NY, Triune-obed Lodge. A huge part of David's life was his commitment to the Greater Hartford Jaycees. He was President of the State of Connecticu­t Jaycees from 1980-1981.

David and Judy were both on the advisory committee of Hoffman Heart Cardiac Rehab, St. Francis Hospital. He was also on the Board of Trustees of the New England Jewish Academy, West Hartford, CT.

David is survived by his wife, Judy, his sister-in-law, Rena Aldrich, his niece, Michelle Aldrich and nephew, Mark Aldrich, and his cousin, Michael Demicco.

Thursday night poker with his buddies was not be to be missed. His lifelong friendship­s meant the world to him.

Services will be on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Congregati­on Schomre Israel, 18 Park Avenue, Poughkeeps­ie, NY followed by graveside service on 67 Lagrange Avenue, Arlington, NY. Shiva will be held at Judy and David's home on Monday and Tuesday afternoons and evenings with minyan at 7:30 p.m. Please practice Covid protocol.
