Mario Amato, 81 formerly of Hartford, Connecticu­t passed peacefully on August 22nd at Conway Medical Center in South Carolina. Born on 12/12/1939 in Alexandria, Egypt to the late Santo and Belinda(barbagallo)amato. Mario leaves behind his beloved wife and dance partner of 41 years Elaine Amato. He

is survived by a brother he dearly loved, Sebastian Amato and his wife Lucy Amato. He is also survived by his sister Michelina Fiamma who held a special place in his heart only a sister could. He was a devoted and loved father that leaves behind his son Anthony Amato and his wife Patricia Amato, his daughter April Amato Stevens, his son Jeffrey Amato, his son Steven Amato, his stepdaught­er Lisa Povetz, his stepson John Povetz and his wife Hana Povetz. He leaves behind ten grandchild­ren and three great grandchild­ren that gave him laughter and joy. He also leaves behind much loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mario had a long career with The Wire Mold Co. of West Hartford and previous to that The Hartford Gage Co. of West Hartford. He was a devoted husband and cherished the life he created together with his wife Elaine. Surrounded by a generous community of friends that affectiona­tely became family, South Carolina became their home for the last twenty years. He had a generous heart that was selfless and giving. His sense of humor and generous spirit touched many in his life time and created life long friends that he treasured dearly. Husband, Grandfathe­r, Brother, Uncle, Cousin,
