Ryan Joseph “R$” Dowling, 27, of East Windsor, passed away all too soon on Friday, August 20, 2021, at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford on March 5, 1994, he was the beloved son of Melisa Kupstas of East Windsor and the late Robert J. Dowling. Ryan was raised in Vernon and East Hartford and had lived in East Windsor for the last three years. Ryan attended Rockville High School, Windsor Locks High School, and the Sport & Medical Sciences Academy in Hartford. After his schooling, Ryan followed his passion for music and helping others and became a music producer, helping several musical artists in the Greater Hartford area. Ryan was an amazing, compassion­ate, giving young man and father to a sweet boy, Nate. Ryan was always giving back to his community, whether it was sponsoring a community basketball team on the low, giving toys to the hood, hookups on groceries for single moms, or just helping those in need. The love and loyalty he had for his family, friends, and community was never ending. He was always trying to make a difference and help the world around him see through different eyes. He leaves to mourn his passing, his mother, Melisa Kupstas and her husband Greg of East Windsor; his son, Nathaniel Joseph Santana-dowling of Bristol; his son's mother, Jodeci S. Villavueva of Bristol; three siblings, Allison Dowling, Sean Kupstas, and Tyler Kupstas all of East Windsor; his maternal grandparen­ts, Robert Van Dine of East Windsor, and Mariann Jones and her husband Richard of Windsor Locks; three aunts, Kimberly Van Dine of Manchester, Sara Gintick of South Windsor, and Shelley Chamberlin of Willimanti­c; an uncle, Steven Gintick of Windsor Locks; his niece, Ariella Gonzalez; four cousins, Kameryn, Ayliah, and Hailee Chamberlin, and Nickolas Burba; a special friend, Unique Oyola of East Hartford; and many other friends and relatives. Besides his father, he was predecease­d by his paternal grandmothe­r, Janet Wiley; and an uncle, Harley Chamberlin. His family will receive friends on Monday, August 30, 5-8 p.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 1 p.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Windsor. The family has requested that in memory of Ryan's love of white flowers, donations of white floral arrangemen­ts will be gratefully accepted or please do a good deed in your
