The Uconn men’s basketball team announced its nonconference schedule for the 2021-22 season Wednesday.

The 11-game slate includes six home games, four neutral-site games and one road contest, with all away games played as part of tournaments or conference challenges.

The men open their regular season at home Nov. 9, playing Central Connecticut for the 16th time. The Huskies hold an undefeated record (15-0) against the Blue Devils. Uconn follows up with Coppin State on Nov. 13.

The following week Uconn has two more nonconference home games against LIU on Nov. 17 and Binghamton on Nov. 20.

The Huskies travel to the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis during Thanksgiving week. Uconn faces Auburn on Nov. 24 in the first round (2:30 p.m., ESPN), either Michigan State or Loyola-chicago on Nov. 25 and possible opponents among defending NCAA champion Baylor, Arizona State, Syracuse or VCU in its final game on Nov. 26.

Two games will wrap up the Huskies’ nonconference schedule, starting with the trip to West Virginia for the Big East-big 12 Battle on Dec. 8.

Finally, the Uconn men and women will play in the Never Forget Tribute Classic on Dec. 11, with the men playing a highly regarded St. Bonaventure team at 3:30 or 4 p.m., and the women facing UCLA at 1 p.m. at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. The women’s game will be on ABC, while the men’s will be on ESPN2.

“It is an honor for us to once again be a part of the Never Forget Tribute Classic as we play a part in supporting an important cause,” said Uconn men’s basketball head coach Dan Hurley in a statement. “We will need Uconn Nation to make the trip with us to the Prudential Center as we square-off against an outstanding opponent.”

Game times and locations for Uconn home games, be it at Gampel Pavilion or the XL Center in Hartford, will be announced at a later date.
