Armand E. Boucher, 93, of West Suffield, Connecticut passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, while

in Hospice care in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Armand, was born in Derby, Connecticut to the late, Emile and Katherine Boucher. He was a 1950 graduate of The University of Connecticut, with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Armand served in the United States Army and was a combatant in the Korean war, after receiving, what he described as a nice letter from President Truman, requesting he enlist in the Army. Armand was proud of his service and kept close contact with his fellow warriors through the years. The majority of Armand's professional career was in Aerospace, working as a design engineer for Sikorsky and Hamilton Standard, now Collins Aerospace. At the time, some of his projects were not known to him, due to the classified nature of the work. In the later years, he was told he developed systems for the SR-71 spy plane and NASA, all with a slide rule. For the last seventy years he was a passionate and generous supporter of Uconn Athletics, holding season tickets to football, men's and women's basketball and attended many soccer games.

An avid traveler, he made frequent trips to Australia, Hawaii, Alaska, loved the Southwest, United States and American Indian Tribes. He was especially fond of America's National Parks. He was exceptionally knowledgeable of the areas he visited; and could produce facts faster than some computers. His closest friend of 60 plus years was James Botellio and his wife Joan, of Somers, Connecticut, and was known to their children, grandchildren and many of their closest friends as "Uncle" and will be deeply missed. Over those 60 years, "Uncle" was present at every event hosted by the Botellio Clan. Armand is survived by his sister; Florence Boucher-johns of Seymour, Connecticut and brother David Boucher of Orange, Connecticut.

He is predeceased by his brother Gordon Boucher of Inverness, Florida. He leaves behind many wonderful nieces and nephews. All who knew him would agree, Armand was the perfect friend. Services are private at the request of Mr. Boucher.
