Kehle, Gretchen (Koll)

It is with great sadness that we share the passing, on the

evening of September 6, 2021, of Gretchen (Koll) Kehle of Willington, Connecticu­t, age 77. Gretchen was born in East Orange, New Jersey to Henry and Mary Louise Koll on March 30, 1944. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Special Education. She was a special education teacher for many years in Utah and Connecticu­t. Gretchen was a woman of deep faith, loved God, and was devoted to her family and friends. She always welcomed guests to her home, loved animals, nature, and most importantl­y, she was a giving person with a pure heart and a role model to all, never saying a bad word about anyone her entire life. She is predecease­d by her parents, her husband, Dr. Thomas J. Kehle, and her daughter, Deborah Kehle. She will be missed by her sister, Brenda Wood of California, her brothers, Roger Koll, and Henry Koll and his wife Dianna of Florida, and her grandchild­ren, Megan and Madelyn Dwyer, as well as many nieces and nephews including Rob Wood, Brandon Wood, Eric Koll, Lisa Koll Kovac, Laura Koll Culpepper, Christen Koll Fiermonti, and close friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 1:00 pm at St. Thomas Aquinas Chapel, 46 N Eagleville Rd, Storrs, CT. A celebratio­n of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Gretchen Kehle's name to the Muscular Dystrophy Associatio­n.
