Maria Domenica (Peluso) Iafrancesco, 85, of West Hartford, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Cristino Iafrancesco.

Maria Domenica was born June 4, 1936 in Sepino, Province of Campobasso, Italy, daughter to the late Pasquale and Lucia (Peluso) Peluso. Domenica is survived by her siblings, Michele (Rosa) Peluso, Luigi (Assunta) Peluso, Antonia (Natalino) Iafrancesco, Carmine (Nekey) Peluso, Albert (Lisa) Peluso and Angelo Peluso. She will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews, as well as her great nieces, great nephews,

extended family and friends.

Domenica played an important role in the lives of John, Robert and Angela since their childhood. In addition to her sister Antonia, who took care of her for many years, she shared a special bond with her niece Angela, who assisted with her care and with whom she resided. Her niece Laura was also a great help during her time of need. Sincerest thanks to the family members and friends that helped Domenica in so many ways over the years. Your kindness does not go unrecognized. Domenica immigrated to the United States in 1971, settling in West Hartford with her husband. Prior to her retirement, she was a seamstress. She loved to garden and incorporate her homegrown vegetables into the delicious meals that she prepared for her family.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday (September 12th) at the D'esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. In accordance with local mandates, masks will be required for attendance. A Mass of Christian Burial

will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday (September 13th) at St. Mary's Church (Annunciation Parish), 626 Willard Ave., Newington. Everyone is asked to please

meet directly at the church. Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
