Megan Thee Stallion inks Netflix deal

-

Megan Thee Stallion has partnered with Netflix to executive produce a new series and other projects in an exclusive first-look deal recently announced. It’s the chart-topping rapper’s first foray into television production after she previously appeared on NBC’S “Good Girls” and was a celebrity judge on HBO’S dance competition show “Legendary.”

There’s no word yet on what her new Netflix productions will entail.

“I’ve always had a passion for telling creative and entertaining stories, so I’m thrilled about this partnership with Netflix,” the “Savage” hitmaker said in a statement. “Venturing into production is the next step in my journey as an entrepreneur, and I can’t wait to bring all my ideas to life and for my Hotties to watch.”

“Megan is a multitalented creative force who has consistently made her mark on culture,” Tracey Pakosta, Netflix’s head of comedy, added in the statement. “She’s always growing and evolving as an artist, and we’re thrilled that she’s making a home at Netflix for this next chapter in her journey.”

Joe Exotic delaying treatment:

The former Oklahoma zookeeper known as “Tiger King” Joe Exotic is delaying prostate cancer treatments until after his resentencing on convictions for a murder-for-hire plot and violating federal wildlife laws, according to a motion filed in federal court.

Federal officials have said Joe Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-passage, will need up to eight weeks of radiation treatments and would be unable to travel during the treatments.

“Postponing radiation treatment until after resentencing would not be detrimental to his health as it is unlikely to affect his prognosis or outcome,” according to the document.

“Given the declination of radiation and the ability to postpone it pursuant to his own doctors, Mr. Maldonado does not want his resentencing hearing postponed any longer,” and asks for a sentencing date between Jan. 20 and 31.

Maldonado-passage, who was featured in Netflix’s “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness,” was sentenced to 22 years in prison, but a federal appeals court ruled that he should get a shorter prison sentence because the trial court wrongly treated the two convictions separately in calculating his prison term under sentencing guidelines.
