Farber Dulos search turns to park in New Canaan
Her SUV was found near site more than 2 years ago
State police are searching Waveny Park in New Canaan, the area near where the SUV of Jennifer Farber Dulos was found more than two years ago, in connection with the investigation into Dulos’ homicide.
“The Connecticut State Police Major Crimes detectives and K-9s are in Waveny Park on a standard follow-up investigative effort out of an abundance of caution,” said Brian Foley, a top aide to state police commissioner James Rovella.
The search is related to the Jennifer Farber Dulos homicide investigation, a state police spokesperson confirmed.
Police are “following up on previous investigative information pertaining to” the investigation, they said.
“This is being done out of an abundance of caution to explore every avenue related to the case,” state police said. “These follow-ups are standard procedure as our detectives thoroughly investigate any and all leads.”
Investigators are still searching for Farber Dulos after she went missing on May 24, 2019. Her estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, was charged with murder in connection with her disappearance and died by suicide in January 2020.
Dr. James Gill, the state’s chief medical examiner, determined, based on evidence, including a large amount of her blood in her New Canaan home, that Farber Dulos likely suffered an injury that was “non-survivable without medical intervention.” State police found no evidence that she was seen by a medical doctor following her disappearance. He has not issued a death certificate because the body has not been found.
Despite extensive searches at numerous locations across the state — including days spent sifting through garbage at the trashto-energy plant in Hartford — no trace of her body has been found.
Police issued a similar statement in January when they brought an excavator to search Dulos’ former home at 80 Mountain Spring Road in Farmington.
“Our main goal is to work toward giving the family of Jennifer Dulos some sense of closure, which is why we’re here continuing to investigate ... the disappearance,” Trooper Josue Dorelus, a state police spokesman, said during a news conference at the time. “Our main goal is again to provide that sense of closure to the family . ... This is still an active and ongoing investigation and as you are aware we’re very limited in terms of what we can and cannot say.”
