Cimino, Joseph R

- Please sign guestbook at courant.com/obituaries

Joseph R. Cimino (Joey), 32, died on December 25, 2021 in Enfield, Connecticut. He was

the son of Sandra Cimino and his late father, Joseph D. Cimino. At 11 years old, Joey learned he had epilepsy. While you'd expect someone

with this diagnosis to choose a cautious life, Joey wasn't one for caution. Epilepsy didn't stop him from climbing trees, swimming in the deep end, wrestling above his weight class, staying out too late, and getting the brightest tattoos. This determination to live fully may have cost his family some sleep here and there but added undeniable quality to Joey's limited years. Joey was never short of smiles, jokes (often at his siblings' expense), and the tightest hugs around. Joey loved working outside, spending too much money on cognac, and listening to music at full blast. Most of all, he loved his family and his friends. Joey was incredibly close with his father Joseph and the two spent many nights talking around the fire. Joey is survived by his mother Sandra, who was a dedicated caretaker until his final day. He is survived by his siblings: Emma Cimino, Hope Cimino and her partner Larry, Jack Cimino and his wife Priscilla and their children Raphael and Ezra; his grandparents: Barbara and Robert Raccone and Hope and Bruce Albee; his aunts and uncles: Lynn and Seth Seidel, Lori and David Stevens, Sharon Shaw, Mark and Terrie Marino, and Robert Shaw; and by countless cousins, including his first cousins Ben, Danielle, Alex, Stephanie, Max, Jenna, Dylan, and Rachel. Joey was predeceased by his father Joseph, his uncle Bruce, and his grandfather Joseph. We are grateful to Joey for the love he shared with us and for the reminder that life is worth living no matter your circumstances. Given the current state of the pandemic, a celebration of life will be held in the spring. For online
