Allen Pinney passed away this Christmas Eve at his home in Hebron. He was 94. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Emmons and her husband, Michael, of Amston, his son, Edward and his wife, Vanina, of Cambridge, NY, his daughter-in-law, Carole Pinney, of Madison, and his brother, Gordon and his wife, Lettie, of Langhorne, PA . He also leaves behind seven wonderful grandchildren and their spouses, Morgan Pinney (Daniel Smithwick), Kieran (Nicole) Pinney, Shelley (Michael) Buckley, Rainger Pinney (Hariet Dixon), Reed Emmons (Kristina Schwartz), Loryn (Francis) Cabrera and Chandon (Moises) Rodriguez, and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy, his son, Selby, his parents, Edward and Marion (Lennox), and his sisters, Loretta Nelson and Marion Headley. Al participated in the Navy V-12 program after graduating from Columbia HS in East Greenbush, NY and following his service in the US Navy, received a B.S. from St. Lawrence University. He began his 39 year actuarial career at the Travelers Insurance Co in 1953. He and Dot moved to Windsor in 1958 where they raised their family and spent the next 55 years. Professionally, Al was a proud Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society. He was also a loving husband, father and grandfather; a Sunday school teacher, a Little League coach, a Scout leader, an accomplished horseshoe player and statistician; and finally a great-grandfather, a role that brought him light and joy in his later years. Allen and Dorothy's ashes will be placed in the First Church in Windsor Memorial Garden this Spring.
