Pastore, Thea K

- Please sign guestbook at courant.com/obituaries

Thea Katherine Pastore passed peacefully on to her next adventure on May 31 at home with her loving husband George. She was born in Boston on July 1, 1950, the first of 3 children, to Frank and Dorothea Pastore (Koresky). After high school, Thea attended Boston Business School and worked

various positions in legal offices, as an executive assistant in the FAA, and then as an Air Traffic Controller. Later she started a second career and served as a corporate executive in the

Connecticut Mutual Insurance Co and consulted as an independent project manager with various other corporations in the Hartford area before retiring.

An avid reader, her many interests included a jewelry making, gardening and caring for heirloom plants passed down through the family over the years. Over the course of her life she continued to be an enthusiastic gardener and a generous donor for both animal and human rights. Her extraordinary connection to nature and appreciation of our interconnectedness led her to always celebrate the changing of the seasons – this spring her beautiful gardens were a dramatic demonstration of how her work and mother nature’s blended so beautifully. A life long Patriot’s fan and season

ticket holder, she kept abreast of the comings and goings on the team roster and loved the team through thick and thin.

Thea is survived by her loving husband, George Hoffman, her mother, Dorothea Pastore, her brother Karl Pastore and his wife Lauri Webster and their son,

Luke Pastore. She is predeceased by her father, Frank Pastore and another younger brother, Anthony Pastore.

Thea’s quick wit and striking sense of humor will be missed by her many friends in both Boston and Connecticut and we will all be a little poorer for the lack of her willing smile and helpful demeanor.

A celebration of life will be scheduled over the coming weeks so her many friends can remember and celebrate the amazing person she was. In lieu of flowers we’re asking that donations be directed to your local animal rescue organization.
