Deluca, Erminia (D'appollonio)
Erminia (D’appollonio) Deluca, 105, formerly of Hartford, loving wife of 46 years to the late Pietro Deluca, peacefully passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022, in Jerome Home, New Britain. Her devoted family was at her side.
Erminia was born in Mckeesport, PA, May 13, 1917 (the Miracle of Fatima Day), second child of thirteen to the late Andrea and Giulia (Marrocco) D’appollonio. She spent her early childhood in Pennsylvania, the family later returned to Lenola, Italy. She returned to the
states as a young adult, moving to Connecticut. Prior to her retirement, Erminia was a dedicated employee for over 30 years with Roosevelt Mills. She was a member of the Cittadini Lenolese Club, as well as a faithful communicant of St. Luke Church, Hartford. Her greatest passion was her time spent with her family,
and she enjoyed cooking, baking and knitting. She was loved by all who knew her.
Erminia will be deeply missed by her devoted family; three daughters, Maria Labadia of Newington, Anne Bensch with husband William of Collegeville, PA, and Julia Broad with her husband Kenneth of Colchester; two brothers and their wives, Americo and Giulia D’appollonio of West Hartford, and Mario and Mammela D’appollonio of Lenola, Italy; three sisters, Filomena Catena of Rome, Italy, Concettina Panno and Emilia Antogiovanni of Lenola, Italy. In addition, she leaves her daughter-in-law, Marcella Deluca, eight adored grandchildren and ten cherished great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband and parents, Erminia was predeceased by two children, Joseph and Isa Deluca, seven siblings, Elda Cardi, Assunta Davia, Pasqualino D’appollonio, Aldo D’appollonio, William D’appollonio, Fulvio D’appollonio and Rosina Mastrobattista and a son-in-law, Salvatore Labadia.
The family would like to thank the Jerome Home for
the excellent care provided to our precious mom, who they lovingly called “Bella”. We would also like to thank Hartford Healthcare at Home Hospice for their support. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the
Deluca family on Thursday, June 16 from 9:00–10:15 AM at the D’esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield.
