Mischak, Marguerite Myers

-

Marguerite “Maggie” (Myers) Mischak, 76, of Collinsville, beloved wife of Michael S. Mischak, went home to be with the Lord, Jesus Christ, Thursday, June 9, 2022. Born in New Haven on October 19, 1945, daughter of the late Harry and Fausta (Radicioni) Myers, she grew up in Mystic, CT until they moved to Collinsville in 1955. She graduated from Canton High School in 1964 and earned her BA in Sociology from Central CT State University in

1968. She had been employed in the Administration offices at Central CT State and also spent 16 years

working for the American Red Cross as a schedule coordinator. Although Maggie was legally blind, she never let her “disability” stop her from anything. She spent many hours volunteering at schools, nursing homes, the former Newington Children’s Hospital, and for organizations helping children and adults deal with blindness. She was a Girl Scout leader for her daughter’s troop for many years. She learned to play the guitar and loved playing for the Nursery Schools around town. Always caring about others needs before her own. She would almost always know who you were by just hearing your voice and always had a way to make anyone she spoke with feel special. The love for her family was profound. Spending time with her grandchildren was one of her favorite things to do, her “little lambs” as she called them. She loved singing and loved singing about the Lord, writing hundreds of poems and songs. The below is a poem she wrote and wanted to be read upon her passing.

NEW BEGINNING – by Maggie Mischak

A new beginning will be for me, when I reach death’s portal to eternity. I’ll enter this realm only by God’s

grace, When I can forever gaze upon His lovely face. The life I’ve lived here, I pray will reflect, Completely God’s glory, with no regret. In His presence will be fullness of joy! Will be able to hear and see, Oh boy! What a privilege to serve Jesus here on earth, which will render eternal treasures of unimaginable worth. So please join me in a forever bliss, will give you the way to accomplish this.

Besides her husband she leaves her daughter Sara Leah Mischak and her husband Jonathan Rogg of Collinsville; son Brian Mischak and his wife Rebecca of Torrington; her beloved grandchildren, Michael, Owen and Morgan Rogg and Hannah and Zachary Mischak; and her sister Michele Woodward (James) of New Hartford. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her twin sister Elaine Langley, and siblings Diane Marsden and Richard Bartolucci. She was a woman of strong Christian faith and an active member of Valley Community Baptist Church in Avon. Her family will receive friends Friday June 17, 2022 from 10:00AM-11:00AM followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon.
