Virginia Carol (Hoffman) Eastman died peacefully on September 9, 2022, at Cherry Brook Health Care in Canton, CT. She was born in Torrington, CT, on May 24, 1942, to Robert B. and Natalie B. (Whittlesey) Hoffman and grew up New Preston and Northfield in western Connecticu­t. After graduating from Washington High

School, she worked at Industrial Risk Insurers in Hartford for 24 years, retiring in 1984. She then opened a gift shop, Ribbons & Roses, in Simsbury and later in

Avon. The shop provided an outlet for her artistic ability whether through unique ornaments and other items or custom painted wall décor in customers' homes. She was commission­ed to paint unique Christmas ornaments for Avon Old Farms School for several years. She also created annual themed snowman Christmas ornaments that were prized by family, friends, and customers. Ginny married Stanley Eastman in 1977, and they lived in Simsbury. He survives her as do her sister, Judith Hakola of Orono, ME, and her brother, David Hoffman, of Morris, as well as their children, Andrew, Amy, and Matthew Hakola, and Alyssa Krasowski and Christophe­r Hoffman and several cousins. She will be missed by her stepsons, Darren, Kevin, and Alan

Eastman and their children, to whom she was lovingly known as “GG.” She is also survived by her brothersin-law, Donald Eastman and his wife Elaine and Charles Eastman and his wife Susan and their children.
