Breindel, Jeffrey G.

-

Jeffrey G. Breindel, 68, of Berlin, loving husband of Cheryl Breindel, passed away November 22, 2022.

He was born in St. Marys, Pennsylvania on October 29, 1954, a son of the late Henry and Edna (Herbstritt) Breindel. He grew up in Wallingford and was a long time resident there before moving to Berlin to raise a family.

Outside of his work as an actuary, Jeff coached his children’s soccer and hockey teams, took them hunting and fishing, and cheered on their dance recitals. He was always ready with a smile and a joke, the perfect sound effect to make his grandkids laugh, or to beat you at “name that tune”. After retiring, he worked as a substitute teacher and enjoyed traveling and taking cruises with his wife.

In addition to his wife Cheryl, he is survived by his children Jerrica and her partner Ari Pérez Mejía, Jay and his wife Janice, and Jared and his wife Rosie; beloved grandchildren Landon and Ariana; and siblings Judith Pulaski and husband Donald, James and wife Christina, Jordan and wife Debra, John and partner Yvonne, Joseph and wife Ann Lynch, and Joanne Irish and husband Mark.

The family would like to thank the staff at both Home Instead and Arden Courts of Farmington for the care, compassion, and companionship they gave Jeff and his family over the recent years. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory can be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489 (www.alz.org/ct).

Calling hours will be on Sunday from 3-6 PM at Ericksonhansen Funeral Home of Berlin, 111 Chamberlain Hwy, Kensington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM DIRECTLY at St. Paul Church. Burial will be in South Burying Ground, Kensington. Please share a memory of Jeffrey with the family in the online guest book @ www.ericksonhansenberlin.com
