Jonathan P. Lewis, 62, of Bristol passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Hartford Hospital with his family by his side after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Mary Jean (Healy) Lewis for 37 years. Jonathan was born March 6, 1960 in Bristol, son of the late John and Elizabeth (Royal) Lewis. He graduated in 1978 from Bristol Eastern High School and Hartford State Technical College in 1980. As a gifted technician, he has been employed by RICOH for the past 42 years, most recently as a Technical Trainer. From a young age, Jonathan could mechanically construct and reconstruct anything that came his way. Jonathan had many interests and talents but above all, his love for music and passion to perform and share his gift with others embodied who he was. He was an active member of St. Joseph’s Music Ministry in Bristol, and many other musical groups throughout his life. His greatest love of all was for his wife and two daughters, Caitlin Lewis of Fairhaven, Massachusetts and Emily Lewis of Bristol, and her fiancé, Nick Gaetano. He was also fondly known as Grampy to his grand dogs, Tuukka and Waffles. In addition to his wife and children, Jonathan is survived by two brothers, Tim Lewis and his wife Claire of Enfield and Kevin Lewis and his wife Vanessa of Clinton as well as two sisters, Susan Casey and her husband Rob of Bristol, and Carolyn Lewis of Bristol and many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Hartford Hospital for the dedicated care and compassion shown to Jonathan during the final days of his life.

The visiting hours will be this Monday, November 28, 2022, from 4 to 7 PM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Avenue, Bristol who has the honor of serving Jonathan’s family. Friends are invited to go directly to St. Joseph Church, 33 Queen St, Bristol on Tuesday morning, November 29, 2022 at 10 AM to attend a Mass of Christian Burial. Committal will be private.
