Roger was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Herbert and Elmer Castonguay. He fought his battle with Type-1 Diabetes and Heart Disease, having his first open-heart surgery in 1991. Despite spending much of his last years in and out of the hospital, Roger never lost his sense of humor. He was known for cracking jokes and making others smile even when he was not feeling well. His favorite pastime was watching his beloved New York Yankees. He never left the house without his Yankees hat, and even wore it in the hospital. A special thank you to Roger's daughter-inlaw, Melissa Castonguay, RN, who cared for him in his final days. Roger's family was his whole life and he will be greatly missed by all of us. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Roger's name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JRDF.ORG) or the Hartford Healthcare Henry Low Heart Center Fund.
