St. John’s 75, Georgetown 73:

David Jones led St. John’s with 17 points and AJ Storr scored the game-winning 3-pointer with four seconds remaining as the Red Storm took down Georgetown 75-73 on Sunday.

Jones had seven rebounds for the Red Storm (14-8, 4-7 Big East Conference). Dylan AddaeWusu scored 15 points. Joel Soriano had his nation-leading 18th double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds.

The Hoyas (6-16, 1-10) were led in scoring by Amir “Primo” Spears, who finished with 25 points. Georgetown also got 17 points and two steals from Brandon Murray. In addition, Qudus Wahab finished with 14 points and seven rebounds.

Addae-wusu scored nine points in the first half and St. John’s went into the break trailing 39-35. Jones led the rally for St. John’s with 12 points in the second half.

Providence 70, Villanova 65:

Jared Bynum scored 17 of his 19 points after halftime and hit a key jumper and two free throws late to help No. 23 Providence defeat Villanova 70-65 on Sunday.

The game was played at the Wells Fargo Center and ended about an hour before the Philadelph­ia Eagles hosted the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC championsh­ip game across the street at Lincoln Financial Field. There were some Eagles chants and plenty of green jerseys throughout the arena.

Ed Croswell scored 14 points, Bryce Hopkins had 13 and Devin Carter chipped in 12 for the Friars (17-5, 9-2 Big East). Providence trailed by seven midway in the second half before rallying.

“It shows our guys are resilient and can compete when we’re not at our best,” Providence coach Ed Cooley said. “So, that was really good for us.”

Walter Clayton Jr. scored 17 points, Nelly Junior Joseph had a double-double and Iona beat Quinnipiac 78-72 on Sunday.

Clayton added six rebounds for the Gaels (14-7, 7-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Joseph finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Daniss Jenkins scored 15.

Dezi Jones totaled 24 points and six rebounds to lead the Bobcats (15-6, 6-4), who saw a six-game win streak end. Matt Balanc pitched in with 12 points, six rebounds and three steals. Luis Kortright scored 11.

Iona 78, Quinnipiac 72:

Rider 78, Fairfield 69: Dwight Murray Jr. scored 18 points and Rider beat Fairfield 78-69 in overtime on Sunday.

Murray also had six rebounds and three steals for the Broncs (11-9, 8-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), who outscored the Stags 13-4 in the extra period. Allen Powell shot 6 for 13 with two 3-pointers, scoring 16. Ajiri Ogemuno-johnson added 15 points on 5 of 7 shooting.

Supreme Cook led the Stags (10-11, 6-5) with 16 points, 10 rebounds and two steals. TJ Long added 13 points and Jalen Leach scored 12.
