Ganci, Marianna
Marianna Ganci, beloved mother, grandmother, friend, and wife died Saturday, January 28th in the presence of her loving family. Her energy was youthful and magnetic. Marianna, of Newington, was a woman full of personality, humor, generosity, and style. Her children often joked that she was the type of person to make friends in the elevator. Marianna was a brilliant, kind, reflective woman who never stopped learning and evolving. She spent several years devoted to caring for others in her career as a nurse in the 1970s-90s. She then fearlessly and successfully shifted into corporate roles. Her wit and perseverance made her a star and she continued to have much success in her career. Despite the challenges she faced growing up, she created an enriched, healthy life by marrying a man whom she loved, respected, and was devoted to. Her husband of 48 years, Michael T. Ganci, died in 2020 of complications due to Covid. Together, she and her husband raised four children, rooted in unconditional love, loyalty, and laughter. She was an amazing role model to her children. She loved people and had many friends, but was especially close to her beloved friends Pam Devinke and Kristine Richter. She loved shopping, spending time with her friends and family, watching football and her programs, reading, decorating, and above all, shopping. She lives on in daughter Joanna Ganci and her husband Daniel Lund of Beverly, MA, in her son Michael A. Ganci and his wife Jeannette Ganci of Newington, in her daughter Nina Ganci and her husband Neil Bennett of Providence, RI, and in daughter Laura Ganci and her partner Ben of Providence, RI. Her spirit continues to grow and thrive in her grandchildren Emerson and Elliot Rose Lund of Beverly, MA and Fiona and Max Ganci of Newington. Her grandchildren were the center of her world and she spoiled them unapologetically. She also leaves her sweet kitten Frankie who offered her comfort and cuteness in the last few weeks.
