Zbigniew Drewa, 94, of Windsor, passed away on February 16th, 2023, peacefully at home with his family by his side.

Zbigniew was born to Alojzy Drewa and Joanna Kobiela in Grzybno, Poland. His early life was joyful in the forests of Poland near the Baltic Sea until he and his brother, Alojzy, were drafted into World War II. Alojzy never returned and declared MIA, breaking his family's heart. Zbigniew was discharged, under the British, in 1946. He spent the following years in Hereford, England, until he immigrated to the United States in 1951. He lived and worked in New York City and Long Island. While living in New York City, he enjoyed the Guy Lombardo Shows. He met and married his bride, Regina Suty, in 1954 and moved to Long Island. In 1957 they moved to Windsor, CT, to be closer to family. Zbigniew worked as a welder and fabricator, retiring from Sound Constructi­on, Bloomfield. Zbigniew lovingly took care of his wife until her passing in 2011. During his retirement, he enjoyed walking, swimming, and attending mass and his family, especially his grandsons, Drew and Evan.

He leaves his daughter, Mary, her husband, Keith, and two grandsons, Drew and Evan. His Sister Elzbieta, brother-in-law and friend Peter, and many nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his wife Regina, son Henry, daughter Alice and son-in-law Frank, parents Alojzy and Joanna Kobiela Drewa, brother Alojzy, sister Kinga

His family will receive friends on Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 9-10 AM at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave, Windsor followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at Ss Cyril & Methodius Church, 63 Popieluszk­o Ct., Hartford.
