Evans, Kevin

- Please sign guestbook at courant.com/obituaries

Kevin Robert Evans was born at St. Francis Hospital on November 29, 1962, to Bob and Pat (Coughlin) Evans. He died at the Hospital of Central Connecticut on February 26, 2023 surrounded by many of us who loved him. Kevin grew up in South Windsor and still had contact with some of his friends. If you knew him, you knew his love for all things Irish and sports, especially basketball and baseball. He found joy in coaching his children and their friends, as well as in cheering from the sidelines for his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Kevin excelled in IT and worked in his field for many years. Work was never a problem for Kevin and whatever he did, he did it well and with pride.

For most of his life, Kevin has been in battles with addiction. He won some of them and lost more of them. When he was winning, we knew, because we had our real Kevin with us and that was a joy and a blessing. He helped others along the way who were struggling as he did.

Kevin lost his final battle with drugs on Sunday.

We are devastated with our loss. He leaves his parents, Pat Fawcett of Unionville, CT, Bob Evans and his wife Peg of Salinas, CA, his siblings, Kathleen Failla and her husband John of Unionville, CT, Patrick and his wife, Ina of Pikesville, MD, Susan Close of East Hampton, CT, and his sister-in-law, Kim Evans of Vernon, CT. Kevin leaves his children and grandchildren, his greatest joys in life: Tony, Brittany and Delaney, Shannon, Adrian and Avaley, Keith, Julie and Nora, and Mia and her mother, Ellari Mirabel, his former wife. His many nieces, nephews and cousins, who share wonderful memories of fun times with Kevin, will miss him dearly. He also leaves his former wife and conscience, Debbie Evans, and his very supportive friend Terri Soucy.

Kevin was predeceased in 2021 by his brother, Sean, with whom we have no doubt he is laughing and teasing in the Evans way!

In place of flowers, please consider a donation to any AA, NA or NAMI group. Please know the power and danger of addiction is all around us. Love your family. Reach out to let others know that help is available. A Mass to celebrate Kevin's life will be at 11 am on Saturday, March 4th, at St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Road, South Windsor, CT. 06074.
