Grossman, Eric R
Eric R. Grossman, 73, a longtime resident of Bloomfield, died peacefully, Sunday March 5, 2023, at home with family by his side. He was the beloved husband, for 49 years, of Linda Goodman. Born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Daniel and Eleanor (Levin) Grossman. He was a graduate of Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland, Ohio with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He first worked as an engineer at United Nuclear Corporation and then the Olin Ski Company. He then became an executive recruiter for engineers and then established his own business recruiting accountants and finance professionals. For the past 15 years, he worked as a real estate agent. Eric had a passion for anything with an engine: motorcycles, offshore power boats and especially cars. He was a very active member of the Porsche Club of America (PCA) and served in many board positions with the local PCA region, Connecticut Valley (CVR). The Porsche Club offered him the opportunity to log many miles at Lime Rock, Watkins Glen, New Hampshire, and other tracks in the Northeast and both he and Linda delighted in instructing other drivers. Eric and Linda enjoyed traveling both here and abroad and most trips involved going to one or more car museums around the world. His “must-see TV” was every Formula 1 race, often viewed with friends. Besides his wife Linda, he is survived by his brother, Phillip Halpern and his wife Debby of Chicago, IL, sister, Hinda Cole of Portland, Oregon, sister Deborah Mcginley and her husband Mark of Eugene, OR, sister Susan Katzenellenbogen of Laguna Woods, CA, sister-in-law Sherri Goodman Reveal and her husband Jerry of Saint Albans, WV, three first cousins, a niece and several nephews and many dear friends and neighbors. A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, 74 Wolcott Road, East Granby, adjacent to Simsbury Airport. Following interment, the family will receive friends at Abigail's Grille and Wine Bar in Simsbury. The family will observe a private period of mourning. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eric's memory may be made to a charity of donor's choice. Eric will be forever loved and remembered by family and friends.
