Chevy keeps finding ways to make Suburban better

- By Marc D. Grasso Boston Herald Grasso’s Garage is here for you! Are you in the market for a new car? I would be happy to provide my honest input. All you have to do is email me: marc.grasso@bostonherald.com.

With people-moving at the top of peoples want lists in today’s consumer market, Chevrolet brings out its best in the 2024 Suburban High Country.

Our Midnight Blue Metallic tester stood out beautifully as blue is always the primary favorite in Grasso’s Garage.

With plenty of space and comfort, the Suburban High Country comes with a 3-liter Duramax turbo-diesel, which offers a $1,500 cost discount. That is a win-win for everyone. Boasting over 24 miles per gallon on our weeklong test, the Suburban is the ultimate people-mover. Although the Duramax engine option offers a discount, a gas option is also available.

Our 2024 Chevrolet Suburban rode on 22-inch sterling silver painted wheels with chrome inserts, exterior High Country badging and chrome accents. LED exterior lights, hands-free liftgate, power folding mirrors and much more. On the interior, it was all luxury and style. A 10.2-inch HD Color infotainment system was paired with Google built-in capability, Bluetooth, Siriusxm, Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity. But most importantly, Supercruise, GM’S autonomous driving software and capability (subscription required), is the best in the business in my opinion; its easily usable technology makes handsfree driving effortless.

In addition to Supercruise and the Advanced Technology package of under $3K, you get enhanced automatic parking and an array of other tech features. Our tester also came with rear seat entertainment including dual 12.6-inch seat-mounted LCD HD touchscreens for under $2K. Sunroof, air ride suspension, adaptive cruise control, trailering package were also options witnessed on our Suburban High Country.

The overall ride of the Suburban was enjoyable. I was very impressed with how Chevrolet provided an outstanding people-mover that is comfortable, luxurious and rightly priced with a diesel engine. GM has really stepped up its game lately in delivering an array of rightly priced vehicles to the already inflated market while keeping up with inventory demands and model options/features. As a new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado owner myself, I am confident the Suburban will make you just as happy as I am with my recent purchase.
