SARASOTA - Harley Richard Bridgman December 20, 1938 – March 17, 2024, Sarasota, Florida. Harley Richard Bridgman, 85, of Sarasota, FL made his way peacefully to heaven on March 17, 2024. Richard was born in a house in the town of Fruitville in Sarasota on December 20, 1938. He grew up between Bradenton, Sarasota and Englewood, Florida. Richard was a member of the Pioneers of Florida and celebrated this at the pic-nics for many years with his mother and other family members. Richard graduated from Sarasota High School and then went on to join the Air Force. Coming home a Veteran having served 2 years, he then decided to take a course at the local technical school and then went on to take a position as an Electronic­s Technician soldering parts together for those famous black boxes that are essential in all aircraft.

His favorite pass times were tennis, jogging, walking outside, trivia game shows, cross word puzzles, and being with family and friends. He is survived by his children, Dana Bridgman Ferrante (John), Patrick Boyd Bridgman (Tonya), four grandchild­ren Christophe­r Michael Creamer (Katelyn Horne), Patrick Joel Bridgman (Amy Prats), Philip Boyd Bridgman, Joshua Perry Bridgman, six great grandchild­ren Joel, Levi, Carter, Adalynn, Zachary and Mya-Jean. He was preceded in death by his former wife Gabriele Hofstetter Bridgman, Harley Roscoe Bridgman and Dorothy Grace Tuynman (Bill), parents, Melva Jean Wunderlich and Patricia Ann Guess, sisters.

Celebratio­n of life Services for Richard will be held March 30, 2024, at the Freedom (Blue Star) Pavilion in Englewood from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and refreshmen­ts will be served. The family will proceed to the gravesite afterwards for the burial.
