IN SPRING

Old Town Spring will feature its 35th Annual Home for the

Holidays Celebration every weekend from 12 to 4 p.m. through Dec. 20 at 403 Main St.

While the tree lighting ceremony took place on Nov. 7, visitors can still admire the 20-foot tall-tree every weekend, along with live entertainment from local school and church choirs, carolers, bell performances, dancers and cloggers. Santa’s Work

For train enthusiasts, there will be a 40-foot Be-An-Angel train ride around Old Town Spring, with a stop at

Preservation Park, 130 Spring School Road. Proceeds from the train ride will benefit the Be-An-Angel Foundation, a non-profit helping children with disabilities.

Tomball residents can get into the Christmas spirit with the 5th Annual

There will be live musical entertainment, Christmas crafts and activities for children, and food and craft vendors for adults who want to do gift shopping.

Admission and parking are free for attendees.

IN THE WOODLANDS

Residents in The Woodlands jump-started their holiday season with the combined 33nd Annual Lighting of the Doves Festival and 9th Annual International

Winter on the Waterway (iWOW) at Town Green Park, 2099 Lake Robbins Drive on Nov. 21.

The Lighting of the Doves and iWOW Festival featured live music, holiday-themed vendor booths, street performances, and several giveaways throughout the day.

Going along with the global theme, food vendors showcased authentic international cuisine, as well as interactive booths that promoted cultural diversity and featured different holiday traditions from around the world.

Instead of one Christmas tree lighting, there was an iWOW World of

Holiday Trees display, a collection of smaller trees lit and decorated with ornaments from around the world.

Children participated in a number of games and activities, such as inflatable playgrounds, snow playgrounds and slides, balloon artists, and arts and crafts.

The event featured a fireworks show and a special appearance by Santa and his sleigh, which was specifically designed to float along The Woodlands

Waterway.
