Kurt Emshousen has joined Transweste­rn as chief administra­tive officer. Emshousen also has been appointed to the commercial real estate firm’s executive committee and board of directors.

Jon Fayard has joined CBRE as sales director for the Houston region. In this newly created position, Fayard will oversee sales management strategy and implementa­tion for the occupier advisory and transactio­n services business.

Mehmood Daya has been promoted to executive partner at the Houston general office of New York Life Insurance Co.

Institutio­nal Property Advisors, a division of Marcus & Millichap specializi­ng in serving institutio­nal and major private real estate investors, has expanded its national team of advisers with the addition of Jennifer Campbell. Campbell will work as an associate director with IPA Texas director Nester Clark in the firm’s Houston office.

Johnston LLC, a multidisci­pline architectu­ral and engineerin­g firm based in Houston, announced new employees. Jalal Zeitoune joined the firmas the practice leader for interior design. Elkin Aguilar has joined the firm as design practice leader in architectu­re. Melissa Wright has joined the firmas director of marketing.

Peter R. Huntsman, president and CEO of Huntsman Corp., has been named to the Memorial Hermann Health System board of directors, effective Jan. 1.

Brad Burke, managing director of the Rice University Alliance for Technology and Entreprene­urship, was named executive director of the Global Consortium of Entreprene­urship Centers, which represents more than 225 university entreprene­urship programs. Founded in 1996, the consortium is now housed at Rice.

Sophia James hasbeen appointed vice president of advancemen­t and corporate partnershi­ps at Neuhaus Education Center, a nonprofit organizati­on dedicated to promoting reading success.
