Award-winning home has lodge feel, custom details

The 2013 Greater Houston Builders Associatio­n Custom Design Home of the Year, this two-story home is on nearly ¾ acre in the gated community of Champion Lakes Estates.

Listing agent Rebecca Nelson with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene Champions said the home designed by architect Preston Wood, has a unique exterior elevation that was inspired by the ski lodges of Utah and features real hand-cut stone from Oklahoma quarries.

Located on the opposite side of the main entry, the dining room features 14-foot ceilings and cedar-wrapped beams that span over 30 feet to the study.

Custom-designed iron gates reveal the wine grotto with clear alder custom cabinetry, a built-in seating area and wine storage.

Located on the first floor, the master retreat has 12foot ceilings, Sonos speakers, a private door leading to the back lanai area, solid knotty alder double doors opening to master bath, plus separate A/C and a tankless water heater.

The award-winning master bath is spa-like in its design and feel and has 12foot ceilings, a 5-foot backsplash, a coffee bar, a Jacuzzi with lower lumbar, leg and foot jets, plus custom-built cabinetry and storage in the closet.
