Realtor of the Week: Cathy Hanson knows high-rise real estate market

- By Rebecca Maitland

Cathy Hanson, a Realtor with Sudhoff Companies, has lived in several different high-rise condominiums for the past 15 years. She understands the lifestyle and benefits of high-rise living and so it was a natural choice for her to move into high-rise real estate.

“I am currently working on the most exciting project, The Wilshire, located inside the Loop. The Wilshire is only 300 feet from River Oaks District, the newest most high-end shopping, dining and entertainment destination in Texas, which is one of the many reason this property is now 60 percent sold,” Hanson said.

Hanson enjoys the many benefits to high-rise living, which she shares with her clients.

“The lock-and-leave aspect allows the owner the freedom to come and go with no worries; it is a carefree life. Many people feel they are being pampered, living in a full-service building with 24-hour concierge, valet parking, and porters to often help with packages. Views are also a big attraction, as they become part of the interior living space, like a unique piece of art. Some of the most breathtaking sunrises and sunsets are enjoyed by people living in the sky,” Hanson said.

Hanson has been in real estate for 13 years and even though she has worked in residential housing and historical homes in the past, she specializes now in new construction high-rise condominium sales.

“I have lived in Houston inside the Loop for 25-plus years. I have seen the city’s tremendous growth. It is an exciting time to be in Houston to witness the growing interest in highrise living from empty nesters to young professionals,” Hanson said.

Prior to real estate, Hanson worked in the fitness industry for 18 years, with many of the skills transitioning into real estate, such as com- munication and motivating a person to reach their individual fitness goals, organization, being detail oriented, and educating clients on the process, either in fitness or real estate. In making real estate choices, it takes motivation and communication to help people find a property that best fits their needs.
