Magic land Biyombo with $72 million deal

Bismack Biyombo is on his way to Orlando to form a menacing new frontcourt with Serge Ibaka.

The Magic and Biyombo agreed to a four-year, $72 million deal Saturday, a person with knowledge of the situation told the Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because a contract cannot be signed until Thursday.

Biyombo was the seventh overall pick in 2011, acquired by Charlotte in a draft-night deal with Sacramento.

Biyombo was labeled a bust during his time in Charlotte but had a breakout year to help the Toronto Raptors reach the Eastern Conference finals last season. In other NBA news: • The Mavericks have informed representa­tives of Golden State’s Harrison Barnes that they intend to sign the restricted free agent to an offer sheet for a four-year, $95 million contract, two people with knowledge of Dallas’ plans said.

• Austin Rivers will keep playing for his father with the Clippers. Rivers agreed to stay in Los Angeles, where Doc Rivers’ son was the backup to point guard Chris Paul. Yahoo Sports reported the deal was for three years and more than $35 million.

• Forward Marvin Williams has agreed to a four-year deal worth $54 million to remain with the Charlotte Hornets, a person with knowledge of the situation told the Associated Press.

• The Kings agreed to terms on a two-year, $25 million deal with guard Arron Afflalo and a twoyear, $16 million deal for Anthony Tolliver, two people with knowledge of the negotiatio­ns told The Associated Press.

• Courtney Lee has accepted a four-year contract offer worth about $50 million from the New York Knicks, a person with direct knowledge of the negotiatio­ns told the Associated Press.

• The Pistons and freeagent forward Jon Leuer agreed on a four-year, $42 million contract.

• Former Deer Park and Stephen F. Austin standout Thomas Walkup was named to the Golden State Warriors’ Summer League roster.
