1946-2016

Julia E. Satterwhite, age 69, went to be with the Lord on June 28, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Julia was born on October 20, 1946 in Crockett, Texas to Benjamin and Rebecca Satterwhite.

Julia grew up attending schools in Crockett, Texas and graduated from Crockett High School. After graduating high school, she attended Baylor University and then went onto finish her studies and graduate from Sam Houston State University. Julia began her teaching career in Bakersfield, California. She then returned to Texas where she discovered her passion for working with children with special needs. Julia worked in Tomball, Klein and Cy-Fair ISDs. After 30+ years of teaching Julia made the decision to semi-retire and take on consulting with Spring ISD.

Julia was an amazing lady that made a difference in the lives of so many students as well as everyone she met. She was the most kind, compassionate, supportive, giving person you’ve ever met. Her true passion was working with students with special needs. She always found some way to be involved and make a difference in their lives. All of her students were truly her kids.

Julia’s family meant the world to her whether that was her San Antonio family, her Crockett family or her school family. She loved coming to San Antonio for each and every holiday, spending time with her nieces, watching her great nephews and niece grow, eating some homemade goodies from Trudy’s kitchen and sitting outside talking to her brother about their days in Crockett. Julia was always thankful for her big family especially her cousins who were her first friends and became forever friendsalways there to support each other. She was thankful for her school family that enriched her life for so many years. Julia also had numerous life long friendships that she cherished and were filled with many wonderful memories of their times together.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents Rebecca and Benjamin Satterwhite and her brother Benjamin Satterwhite III. She is survived by her loving family-brother, Robert Satterwhite, sister-in-law, Trudy Satterwhite, nieces, Kimberly Satterwhite and Melissa Satterwhite Ramos and husband, Nick Ramos and 3 great nephews and niece, Jacob, Emma and Jackson Ramos as well as some puppies that loved her dearly. She’s also survived by many family and friends that she loved very much. She will be missed dearly and always remembered with fond, loving memories. If you would like to honor Julia, please send a donation to an organization of your choice that specializes in children with special needs.

A Celebration of Julia’s Life will take place on July 23rd, 2016 at Tomball Community Center at 11am. Located at 221 Market Street, Tomball, Texas 77375.
