Their run fell short in the Class 6A state championship game against Keller, but what a run it was. The Lady Oilers took down Deer Park, Seven Lakes and 2015 state champion Katy on the way to the program’s sixth state tournament berth. Alyssa Denham, the All-Greater Houston Softball Pitcher of the Year, was one of the most dominant pitchers in the city with a 22-4 record, 230 strikeouts and an ERA below 1.00.
