TRAGEDY IN BATON ROUGE

Three law enforcement officers killed by former Marine during Louisiana shootout, just 10 days after Dallas

- From wire reports

Last Sunday, just a week after the Baton Rouge Police Department was criticized for aggressive tactics against protesters, three law enforcement officers — two white and one black — were shot dead by a black former Marine in an attack that was a tragic repeat of the one in Dallas on July 7. Louisiana State Police had announced that they had received threats against the Baton Rouge police. The gunman, Gavin Long, 29, was from Kansas City, Mo. He reportedly stopped in Dallas and Houston on his way to Baton Rouge. The shooting has further galvanized the Blue Lives Matter movement.
