Richard Ray shares his formula for real estate success
Richard Ray, a Realtor with John Daugherty, Realtors, has been very successful throughout his 12 years in real estate.
Moreover, people have asked him what his secret to his success is in real estate and in life. Today, he is now sharing those secrets.
“First, I’d like to mention how humbled I am to work with so many awesome Houston-area Realtors. I love being part of this industry,” Ray said.
There are three important things that have helped Ray in his career.
First, attitude is everything. It is important to develop and maintain a positive, winning attitude. Plus, the three E’s: energy, enthusiasm and excitement.
“What I have been told by clients is it shows I really like what I do. This
is true. I am excited and enthusiastic about each opportunity with each client,” Ray said.
For Ray, small victories lead to large victories.
“For example, when I am going on an appointment I think about this client chose me to explain the process out of some 26,000 Realtors in Houston. For me, this is a victory. I then focus on the next small step, celebrate each step, and soon I have stepped to the finish line,” Ray said.
Jim Rohn once said, “Attitude drives actions. Ac- tions drive results. Results drive lifestyles.”
“I believe this and keep it in mind.” Ray said.
Ray also focuses on what he can do, not what he cannot do.
“I understand if it is to be, it is up to me. I also keep Joel Osteen’s words in mind that our best days are still ahead. So I do not let a setback get me down. I keep going,” Ray said.
Ray also has exceptional time management and follows a routine.
“I am up at 3:30 a.m. most days. I respond to emails, pay bills, watch the news, and read the Hous- ton Chronicle every day because it is important to be informed to be an information source,” Ray said. Then Ray hits the gym at 5 a.m., walks the dogs, and by 6:30 a.m., he is ready for the day.
“If I feel like a million dollars, then the days go better,” Ray said.
By keeping his routine, he has time for himself, time for others and clients.
“Relationship building and meeting people are also important. I love people, and I love being able to help clients reach their real estate goals,” Ray said.
