White Oak Music Hall celebrates opening night of indoor venue
Houstonians arrived ready to rock at White Oak Music Hall’s big unveil of its indoor concert space. Philanthropic doyenne Lynn
Wyatt was one of the first of the 400 partygoers to breeze through the doors. The event’s publicity hire, Mark Sullivan, escorted Wyatt, who dressed for the occasion in a head-to-toe blackand-white ensemble, anchored by a vintage Yves Saint Laurent musical note frock.
A rush of movers and shakers followed in her wake to see the $15 million development. The festivities officially kicked off at 8 p.m. but investors, friends and family started celebrating early.
Blair Bentley, Stuart Rosenberg, Chris and Sarah Cusack and Ernie Manouse donned trendy concertwear for the first night of the four-day grand-opening weekend.
To emphasize the project’s Texas focus, the lineup of performers included Another Run, Mobley, Peach Kings and Kay Weathers. Black Angels, Tele-phantom, Rose Ette, Cody Jinks, Whitey Morgan, Quaker City Night Hawks, Night Drive, Bang Bangz, Young Girls, Explosions in the Sky, Children of Pop, Josiah Gabriel, Jerk and Mantra Love were also on the weekend lineup, with shows at White Oak’s Upstairs, the Hall and the Lawn.
Top-tier attendees, touting highly coveted brown wristbands, fueled through the allnight bash with sliders and truffle fries, courtesy of The Burger Joint. By night’s end, more than 1,000 guests had pulsed through Ginde signs group’s state-of-theart, multilevel structure. Socialmedia hounds delighted in CTM Event’s 360 interactive video stations and virtual-reality wall.
Around midnight, organizers struggled to usher out stragglers still lingering after the final concert.
