Trendmaker builds Benefit home for GHBA effort
Trendmaker Homes announced it is constructing the F501C Plan with the fourth-bedroom option for the 2016 Greater Houston Builders Association fundraiser, the Benefit Homes Project, on a homesite in Meridiana MPC (masterplanned community).
Trendmaker is donating construction management and Meridiana’s developer, Rise Communities, is donating the homesite.
Each year two homes are built for the project with donated land, materials and services by GHBA members. The homes offer a variety of popular features and amenities and are sold at market value. The majority of the proceeds benefit Texas Children’s Cancer Center, the Alzheimer’s Association and HomeAid Houston. Since the fundraiser began 36 years ago, more than $9.5 million has been raised.
“HomeAid Houston, Texas Children’s Hospital and the Alzheimer’s Association of Southeast Texas are such wonderful and deserving causes,” said Will Holder, Trendmaker president. “We are happy to be a part of this year’s Benefit Homes Project.”
For 45 years, Trendmaker has been a wellknown name in Houston’s new-home market.
“Trendmaker’s reputation ensures the Benefit Homes Project will be a success,” said Lisa Pepitone, GHBA project liaison. “The company has always put an emphasis on excellence. They create homes that are both beautiful and functional, combining high-end finishes. They are also known for delivering a superior homebuying experience, and that experience starts in model homes, where the buyer knows ‘what you see is what you get.’ This is indeed an exciting year for the Benefit Homes Project.”
Meridiana, south of the Texas Medical Center off Texas 288 and Texas 6, is a new, 2,700-acre community that will be accessible by the new Meridiana Parkway, currently under construction, creating an easy commute heading north to the Texas Medical Center or south to Dow Chemical, BASF and other Brazoria County workplaces.
In addition to luxury homes by some of Houston’s finest home builders, Meridiana MPC will offer a waterfront Amenity Village where residents can enjoy a resort-style pool with cabanas, cafe, kids’ splash pad, fitness center with on-site personal trainers and outdoor amphitheater.
A second home was built for the 2016 Benefit Homes Project by Castletree Homes and recently sold. The home was built in the new community of Miramesa near U.S. 290 and Fry Road.
The community developer, Land Tejas Cos., donated the homesite. Further details For more information, visit www.ghba.org or call the GHBA at 281-9708970.
