Boot Barn to scoot into shopping center’s anchor spot

• Boot Barn has signed on as an anchor tenant in the Federal East shopping center redevelopm­ent by Baker Katz at Interstate 10 and Federal Road. The 13,250-square-foot store is expected to open in December. Aportion of the center will be demolished to improve parking. Other planned upgrades include a new facade.

• Blue Lion Salon Studios signed a 10,000-square-foot lease at Brazos TownCenter, a shopping center to be developed at the southeast corner of U.S. 59 and FM762 in Rosenberg. Mark Raines and Matt Parsons of JLL represente­d the tenant in the transactio­n. Bob Conwell of NewQuest Properties represente­d the landlord.

• The Big Salad has opened a 1,600-square-foot restaurant, its first outside of Michigan, in River Pointe Center at 20400 Southwest Freeway in Sugar Land. The Big Salad has grown to seven loca- tions since opening in 2008. As many as five are planned in the Houston area.

• Weingarten Realty has sold Glenbrook Square, a 73,440-square-foot shopping center anchored by Kroger at the northwest corner of Telephone and Bellfort. JLL represente­d Weingarten in the sale and arranged acquisitio­n financing.

• West Junction Shopping Center, a 66,617-square-foot property at 4978-4998 Texas 6 North, has changed hands. Gus Lagos, Alex Bouchard and Nik Kapetanaki­s of Marcus & Millichap represente­d the seller. Evan Altemus, also with Marcus & Millichap, represente­d the buyer.
