Ingrid has nothing but love for Queen B

‘Love Drought’:

After the Genius interview blew up, I was terrified. I was like, “Oh, my God. Beyoncé is going to kill me.” She didn’t know the story herself. I’m not going to say she did not care, but she was unbothered by it for the most part. I took a negative, in my opinion, and made it into a positive. I took lemons and made lemonade.

Dangerously in love?:

Every time I see (Beyoncé) and her husband, they’re happy, and I’m around them all the time. I don’t know what they’re going through. I don’t know what it means. Do I really think that if they are going through something, they’re going to walk up to me and tell me or anybody else about it? No.

Getting in Formation with Bey:

I constantly have to remind myself, “No other tour will be anything like this. Embrace it. Live in the moment.” The biggest takeaway was that it’s work first. I know that’s why Beyoncé is so great. She’s about her business. She’ll have a good time. She’s not a robot like people think she is. But she takes her work very seriously.

Influence of Independent women:

Of course, Destiny’s Child is a no-brainer, growing up so close to them and Beyoncé and Kelly (Rowland) and Solange and watching them work. That’s really what directly inspired me to feel like I could have career. “Writing’s on the Wall,” songwriting-wise, was an incredible influence on me.

Htown Irreplaceable:

Living in New York away from my family was the hardest struggle for me. Beyoncé was like, “You deserve to be around people where you feel embraced and where you feel loved all the time because that’s going to help you creatively. Go wherever you want to go. We’re going to support you wherever you decide to live.”
