Elyson’s Rorick House will offer food, fun, information
Opening for the first time at the Sept. 24 VIP Preview event, Rorick House will fulfill several roles in Elyson, a new community at Grand Parkway and FM 529, in the Katy Independent School District.
For home shoppers, Rorick House will be Elyson’s official welcome center. It will be the best place to get an overview of new homes priced from the mid-$200,000s to $600,000s by Chesmar, Darling, David Weekley, Highland, Perry, Pulte, Trendmaker and Westin.
Rorick House is an easy walk from the Elyson Model Home Village, where 10 fully furnished model homes will be showcased. The first two model homes, by Highland, are already open.
For Elyson residents, Rorick House will be the first destination for fun in a community whose 3,642-acre master plan will devote more than 750 acres to parks, trails, recreation centers and natural open spaces.
Rorick House will include an event lawn, playgrounds, and a pool with lap lanes, lounging shelves and a beach entry. The clubhouse will offer a fitness center; meeting rooms; and a game room with ping-pong, shuffleboard, foosball and a big-screen television.
For hungry residents and visitors, Rorick House will be home to Rorick Kitchen, offering burgers, sandwiches, salads, pastas and pizza with made-from-scratch dough. Poolside service will be offered in summer.
The exterior design of Rorick House is strongly influenced by the Prairie School of architecture, made famous by Frank Lloyd Wright and others. Inside, Rorick House preserves original features from the land, including cedar from an old farmhouse and pieces of old rice silos, to create a connection to the land’s history.
