Restaurant torn down — another is likely for the site
The Ram a Cos ., a local firm led by Amir Taghdisi, will build a 3,000-square-foot restaurant/ retail building at 5440 Memorial Drive.
The company tore down a 1,600-square-foot Pollo Bravo restaurant to make way for the development about a monthago, after acquiring the 14,500-square-foot parcel last year. Theproject, which will have patio seating along Reinecke, will be similar in style to the company’ s Park Place Memorial development across the street with high ceilings, lots of glass and a stucco exterior.
A tenant has not been signed, but Taghdisi expects to break ground in about three months with completion planned in the third quarter. Josh Jacobs of Edge Realty is handling leasing of the building, whichis also being marketed as retail space.
The10,000-square-foot Park Place Memorial has Pi ada Italian Street Food, Express Rolls, Dunk in Do nuts, Omni Cleaners and Mattress One as tenants. Both developments could potentially be replaced in 20to 30 years with taller projects, Taghdisi said. The location between Memorial Park and Buffalo Ba you Park made the sites attractive for retail projects in the current market. In other developments: • Burlington Stores has opened a 50,000-square-foot store in the Bay town North Shopping Center at 6515 Garth Road near San J ac into Mall.
• Chick-fil-Ah as opened Cypress Tow ne Lake sat 9823 Barker Cypress. The 4,900-square-foot restaurant has seating for 136 plus another 16 onthe patio and brings in1 20 new jobs.
