LAWRENCE, Kan. — Kenny Hill completed 17 of 32 passes for 206 yards and one touchdown and rushed for another score as TCU outlasted Kansas 24-23 on Saturday.

“KU has always played us hard,” Horned Frogs coach Gary Patterson said.

The Jayhawks took a 23-14 lead late in the third quarter on Ryan Willis’ 21-yard run, but TCU (4-2, 2-1 Big 12) answered in the fourth.

On third-and-12 in Horned Frogs territory, Hill scrambled and fumbled, but he picked up the ball and darted around for a gain of 34 yards. Two plays later, Hill connected with Jaelan Austin for the touchdown to pull TCU within 23-21.

Kansas (1-4, 0-2) had a chance to eke out a victory during the final minute, but Matthew Wyman missed on a 54-yard field goal as time expired. KANSAS ST. 44, TEXAS TECH 38

The Wildcats scored touchdowns on defense and special teams, shut down the high-flying Red Raiders in the second half and held on for a victory at Manhattan, Kan.

Jesse Ertz scored on the ground and through the air, Charles Jones ran for 128 yards and another touchdown and Matt McCrane hit three field goals as Kansas State (3-2, 1-1 Big 12) beat Texas Tech (3-2, 1-1) for the fifth time in their last six meetings.

Red Raiders quarterbac­k Patrick Mahomes, despite an ailing shoulder, threw for 504 yards and two TDs while running for three more scores.

The Wildcats’ Byron Pringle returned a kickoff 99 yards for a score. OKLAHOMA ST. 38, IOWA ST. 31

James Washington caught eight passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns, and the Cowboys overcame a 17-point second-half deficit to defeat the Cyclones at Stillwater, Okla.

Washington put Oklahoma State ahead for good when he caught a 3-yard touchdown pass from Mason Rudolph with 3:40 remaining.

Rudolph passed for 351 yards and four touchdowns for the Cowboys (4-2, 2-1 Big 12).

It was the second consecutiv­e late collapse for Iowa State (1-5, 0-3).
