-

Alison R. Anderson, 46, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend died on Wednesday, the 5th of October 2016.

She leaves behind her husband Nicholas and their children Evan, Avery and Grace; her parents Mical and Susan Renz; her sister Elyse Brady and her daughter Lauren Brady; her father-in-law and mother-in-law Lance and Anne McFaddin; her brotherin law and sister-in-law Derek and Connie Anderson and their children Sarah and Andrew; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Brian and Wendi Anderson and their children Beckett, Arden and Wren; her brother-in-law and sister-inlaw Bill and Jessica Magness and their children Des and Thea; and her sister-in-law Leigh McFaddin.

Alison was a woman of exceptional beauty, intelligence, grace and strength. A native Houstonian, Alison graduated from Northwest Academy in 1988 and attended undergraduate school at Texas Christian University from 1988-1992 where she graduated with honors. She became a CPA and worked for 18 years for Hines Interests becoming their Senior Vice President of Accounting for the Southwest Region.

Alison stepped down in 2012 when her breast cancer metastasized, and she dedicated her energy toward her treatment and the founding of the Advanced Breast Cancer Center of Excellence (ABC COE) at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Alison will be remembered for her many accomplishments. But beyond that she will be remembered by her colleagues, friends, and family for being a woman that reminded us that it is important to advocate for those people and causes that are important in your life. She inspired us by taking aggressive action to help Stage IV breast cancer patients receive better care, while going through her own very difficult treatment regime.

Alison attended Christ the King Presbyterian Church and was an active member in her support group bible study. Her faith in Christ was a source of spiritual nourishment and comfort for her.

Alison’s legacy will live on through her husband and children. And indeed her greatest joy was being a mother to her beautiful children and being a partner in marriage to Nick. May her memory be a source of everlasting strength to those who love her, and may she rest in peace.

The memorial service will be conducted at Christ the King Presbyterian Church, 1201 Silber Rd., Houston, TX 77055 at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, the 11th of October.

In lieu of flowers and in memory of Alison, contributions may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486 or www.mdanderson.org/gifts. The family asks that funds be directed to the Advanced Breast Cancer Center of Excellence (ABC COE).
