THIBODAUX, La. — Jeremiah Briscoe threw for 419 yards and three touchdowns, and Davion Davis grabbed seven passes for 121 yards to lead Sam Houston State to a 38-21 win over Nicholls State on Saturday.

Sam Houston State (7-0, 6-0 Southland Conference), the top-ranked team in the FCS, jumped out to a 24-0 lead at the break and was up 38-14 at the start of the fourth quarter.

D’Shaie Landor was 16-of-30 passing for 229 yards and two touchdowns to help the Lions beat the Huskies in Hammond, La.

Tony Dawson was 11of-23 passing for 178 yards and an intercepti­on for HBU (2-5, 1-4 Southland).

Dallas Sealey threw for 346 yards and a careerhigh five touchdowns as the Wildcats picked up their first victory of the season, rolling over the Cardinals in Abilene.

Abilene Christian (1-7, 1-5 Southland Conference) had 500 total yards and limited Incarnate Word (1-6, 1-4) to 292.

Jeffrey Wilson rushed for 160 yards and three touchdowns, and the Mean Green (4-3) beat the Black Knights in West Point, N.Y.

Ryan Metz’s 6-yard touchdown pass to Warren Redix in the fifth overtime lifted the Miners (2-5, 1-3 Conference USA) to a win over the Roadrunner­s (3-4, 2-2) in San Antonio.

Hayden Hildebrand threw a short scoring toss to Kelton Warren for the game-winning touchdown as the Bears defeated the Cardinals (3-4, 3-2 Southland) in Conway, Ark.

Elijah McGuire ran for 112 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Ragin’ Cajuns to a win over the Bobcats (2-5, 0-3 Sun Belt) in San Marcos.
