CHERYL MAGEE HEBERT
1949-2016
Cheryl Magee Hebert passed away peacefully after an epic battle with a stone cold killer. Pancreatic Cancer claimed her life after a diagnosis five short weeks ago, followed by only one treatment of Chemotherapy!
Cheryl was a graduate of New Kensington High School in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. She was a Cum Laude graduate from Penn State University in Engineering and then received her Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
She began her working career in Nashville with Aware Engineering, designing and constructing modern water and wastewater treatment plants throughout the United States.
Cheryl traveled to the greater Houston area in the early 1970’s for engineering and emerged with her own real estate company, Magee and Associates, located in Sugarland, Texas. Cheryl served on the Sugarland Chamber of Commerce in Business Development and through these efforts, successfully relocated many tenants to the Sugarland area. Her expertise in engineering assisted her in the renovation and leasing of many existing structures in the Greater Houston Area. She represented a client base that included Bank of Boston, Mutual of New York and Citicorp.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years Ken Hebert, two stepsons Ken and Chris, daughter-in-law Wendy, 3 granddaughters Hailey, Kate and Amelia and a favorite grandson Jackson, her mother Elizabeth Bellas Magee and sisters Sharon Magee (Rege) Cumpston and Kathie Magee (Jim) Ellzey She was preceded in death by her father, the late Lester R. “Fibber” Magee.
The grandchildren were the love of her life and kept her on her toes at all times.
She could often be seen walking and playing with her beloved “dog’s” Bear and Juday.
