Guerra: Understanding the market is important
The real estate market in Houston is good year round.
“So it does not matter if the market is up or down. All that is important is that you understand the market, when to adapt and how to navigate through it. This is where a Realtor is so important, as they can guide you in staying current with trends and the changing technology,” said Terri Guerra, a Realtor with Berkshire Hathaway Home-Services Anderson Properties.
Moreover, there are many buyers looking for homes to purchase before the end of the year to receive their homestead exemption.
“They need to purchase in 2016 to receive the exemption in 2017. Buying on Jan. 1 will cause you to wait an entire year before you can apply. November is a busy month, so if you are on the fence about buying or selling, it is a good time to move forward,” Guerra said.
A native Houstonian, Guerra specializes in the Inner Loop, especially in the Heights area that she has called home for about 28 years.
“I love my neighborhood. I love talking about the history and how it has changed. We have so much to offer, it is a small town in the big city and it has everything we need. We also have some incredible schools,” Guerra said.
She has been a Realtor for almost three decades, and brings much to the table when assisting clients.
Prior to real estate, Guerra worked in many areas of the industry, including construction, title companies and in escrow. However, it was when she was in the construction industry that her enjoyment of real estate began blooming.
“I love finding that perfect fit for buyers and sellers and I always enjoy meeting new people and working with my clients,” Guerra said.
She is also very involved with many different areas of the industry, such as being a member of the professional standards with the Texas Association of Realtors, and the mediation committee.
She also holds an Accredited Luxury Home Specialist, Certified Seller Representative, and an Accredited Home-Staging Specialist designation.
Guerra is known for her sincere caring for her clients and working hard to meet their goals. She also has excellent listening skills and believes communication is important, which her clients appreciate.
She is also involved in the community and enjoys giving back.
“I simply love what I do, and clients say it shows,” Guerra said.
