Elyson’s Rorick Kitchen offers refreshing stop for home buyers
Home shoppers can work up quite an appetite touring Elyson’s 10 decorated model homes, showcasing the variety of new homes priced from the mid $200,000s to $600,000s in this new Katy Independent School District community.
For a refreshing break, they can head over to Elyson’s Rorick Kitchen cafe, located in the Rorick House visitor welcome center. Rorick House is also the first recreational amenity for Elyson.
Offering everything from smoothies and snacks to pizzas and salads, Rorick Kitchen is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, noon-4 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays.
Elyson is at Grand Parkway and FM 529, approximately eight miles north of I-10 west.
Rorick Kitchen cafe will extend its hours as Elyson welcomes new residents, and it will offer poolside service starting next summer. Rorick Kitchen will also open for special events, such as next month’s screening of “Zootopia” on the new event lawn at Rorick House.
For now, Rorick Kitchen hours are ideal for home shoppers touring new model homes by Chesmar, Darling, David Weekley, Highland, Perry, Pulte, Trendmaker and Westin. Elyson builders also are showcasing many quick move-in homes that will be completed by this fall or in early 2017.
Operated by Lanie Alvarez and her brother, Alex Ciocca, Rorick Kitchen has a distinctly Italian accent, serving some treasured family recipes handed down from their grandparents, who emigrated from Italy in the early 20th century.
The siblings have operated the Italian Maid Café in historic downtown Richmond since 1998, along with a newer location, and they’re excited about becoming part of Elyson.
“We’re known for our spaghetti and meatballs, along with our Italian Wedding soup and tomato basil bisque,” Alvarez said. Pizza, their signature Sunset Salad and homemade chicken salad will be part of the menu, too.
