39-point 3rd quarter helps No. 5 Baylor rout DePaul

ESTERO, Fla. — Alexis Prince scored 19 points, and No. 5 Baylor used a huge third-quarter run to ease past No. 18 DePaul 104-72 on Saturday in the semifinals of the Gulf Coast Showcase.

Nina Davis scored 16 points and Kristy Wallace handed out 15 assists for the Bears (6-1), who will play in the tournament championsh­ip game Sunday night.

Alexis Jones scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Beatrice Mompremier added 14 points for Baylor.

Jacqui Grant scored 18 points for DePaul (4-1), which got 11 from Ashton Millender. NOTRE DAME 92, TCU 59

Top-ranked Notre Dame pulled away from the Horned Frogs 92-59 at South Bend, Ind., to stay unbeaten.

Arike Ogunbowale scored 19 points and the Irish used a decisive third quarter to put away the pesky Horned Frogs.

The Irish (6-0) took a 66-50 lead into the fourth and pulled away. OHIO ST. 77, SYRACUSE 72

Kelsey Mitchell scored 24 points and the No. 8 Buckeyes wasted a 15-point second-half lead before holding off the No. 11 Orange in the semifinals of the Gulf Coast Showcase at Estero, Fla.

Mitchell made 3-pointers on consecutiv­e possession­s in the fourth quarter to snuff out a Syracuse rally.

The Buckeyes (5-1) will meet No. 5 Baylor on Sunday.

Alexis Peterson led all scorers with 29 points for Syracuse (4-2). Brittney Sykes had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Gabby Cooper scored 12 for Syracuse. MARYLAND 79 WASHINGTON ST. 69

Brionna Jones had 20 points and a career-high 20 rebounds as the No. 6 Terrapins struggled before pulling away late in the fourth quarter to beat the Cougars at Las Vegas.

Kiandra Bowers and Moe Kinard scored 18 points apiece to lead the Cardinals past the Griffs at Canisius, N.Y.

With the loss the Griffs fell to 1-4; the Cardinals are 3-3.
