Richard Ray encourages investment in real estate

- By Rebecca Maitland

Richard Ray, a Realtor with John Daugherty, Realtors, encourages investment in real estate.

“Real estate is a crucial component of long term financial wealth and stability. Plus, I truly believe that we have hit bottom in terms of pricing for homes in most areas of Houston and we are on our way back up. To me this indicates that now is an excellent time to buy and a great time to sell,” Ray said.

When it comes to listing your home for market, Ray has resources to help sellers.

“Realtors always have the best contacts when it comes to contractors that can help fix up homes. In fact, I have worked with some of my referrals for 20 years,” Ray said.

Ray is originally from Dallas and moved to Houston in 1990, and made the city his home, calling himself a Houstonian.

He does not have a set focus area and work with clients all over Houston and surrounding areas. However, most of his business is within Beltway 8.

He also serves clients in Katy and Sugar Land. Ray has called Bellaire/ Meyerland/Southampton areas home since arriving in Houston.

“I started my career in real estate in Houston in 2004. I have always had an interest in architecture and design and decided, after a successful career including the financial industry, to go into real estate full time. It’s the best personal and professional decision I ever made,” Ray said.

Prior to real estate, Ray was in the employment industry and found many of the same listening skills and personal services in this industry transferred easily to real estate in the process of helping buyers and sellers with their decision-making.

Ray also holds a Master Certified Negotiation Expert designation, which only a small percentage of real estate agents possess in the United States. He has been a top producer in the industry since 2005.

Ray is known for his humility and always putting his clients first, which has been the key to success.

He is also known for being a good listener and having excellent organizational skills, enthusiasm, friendliness, going above and beyond to satisfy his clients’ needs, and the ability to work with people from all backgrounds.

“I love this industry, and everything that it includes. But most of all, I love working with my clients,” Ray said.
