Mercer team works together to meet clients’ needs

- By Rebecca Maitland

The RE/MAX Mercer Team is rated one of the top 50 teams out of REMAX’s 133,000–plus agents worldwide.

Terence Barnes, Josh Hill, Ben Kashou, Rachel Jones, Richard Royds and Larry Mercer make up this successful team.

“Houston’s real estate industry is still relatively strong. Properties are selling, and prices are stable. Inventory is going up, which provides buyers choices,” said Larry Mercer, broker with The Mercer Team at RE/MAX Metro.

The Mercer Team is a close-knit group, and keeps abreast of each other’s clients and listings.

“Since we are all familiar with each other’s business, if one person is not available, another team member steps-in. Our clients receive impeccable customer service,” Mercer said.

Mercer and his team also work all over Houston and surrounding communities.

“We know Houston and we know the outlying areas, because we have made it a priority to know them. We have visited the schools, and studied the neighborhoods. Plus, we have worked in these communities throughout the years, which adds to our knowledge. In the industry, we are known as area specialists,” Mercer said.

Mercer said his team is also known for being polite, respectful, hardworking, flexible and available, with excellent communication and negotiation skills, which their clients highly appreciate.

Mercer has been active in real estate for 38-years, and his experience, along with the experience of his seasoned team of Realtors, offers clients many benefits.

Each member of The Mercer Team has a different background and skills, which adds depth to the team.

Mercer’s background is in the technical and accounting areas, which means accuracy and being highly detailed are in his DNA.

“However, I also love people of all ages, and I have never met a stranger,” Mercer said.

Mercer started selling real estate in 1978, and then purchased the company he was working for in the mid-1980s.

He had four offices and grew the agency to 167 agents. He sold this company in 1998, due to being so involved with administration, that he missed working with clients. He joined RE/MAX in 2000, and loves it.

“I love Houston and the surrounding areas. I love what all of these areas offer, from the restaurants and entertainment to the quiet little less-known areas. Plus, the people here are fantastic and friendly,” he said. “Each day is different in our business, and I look forward every day to meeting the challenges and exceeding our client’s expectations.”
