Miss Lauren Ann Simpson Weds Mr. Eric Joseph Amedee

Miss Lauren Ann Simpson and Mr. Eric Joseph Amedee were united in the sacrament of Holy Matrimony on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at seven o’clock in the evening, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. Reverend Philip Lloyd celebrated the nuptial mass uniting the couple. Readings were provided by Lauren Johnson King, Wade Anthony Gautreau and Emily Shepherd Gooding. A reception followed the ceremony in the Crystal Ballroom at the Rice, with music provided by Doppelgang­er. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Ouisie’s Table. A bridal luncheon on Friday at The Junior League of Houston, was hosted by Laura Griffith, Marcia Papp, Elizabeth Stein, Susan Viviano and Lil Woolsey.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Benton Simpson, III of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaugh­ter of Mrs. Thomas Benton Simpson, Jr., the late Mr. Thomas Benton Simpson, Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Edward Pierce, Jr. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley Sinquefiel­d of Prairievil­le, Louisiana and Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Joseph Amedee, Jr. of Gonzales, Louisiana. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Joseph Amedee, Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ben Roumain Babin, Sr.

Elizabeth Simpson Canfield, sister of the bride, of Houston, Texas, served as Matron of Honor. Bridesmaid­s were Jamie Lee Williams Breland, of Philadelph­ia, Mississipp­i, Eugenia Thompson Mack, Morgan Murphey Martinkewi­z, both of Houston, Texas, Jeanne Leveque Robinson, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Nicole Huskey Schoolfiel­d, of Shreveport, Louisiana, Alexandra Helaine Smith of San Francisco, California, Roslyn Pursley Sturm of Friendswoo­d, Texas, Shannon Patricia Wall and Kate Tejeda Woolsey, both of Houston. Members of the House Party were Emily Shepherd Gooding, of Missouri City, Texas, Lauren Johnson King, of Katy, Texas, Mackenzie Robertson Murrer of Waxhaw, North Carolina and Whitney Rogers Runyon of Austin, Texas. Serving as flower girls were Anna Claire Ameede and Rose Elizabeth Canfield nieces of the bride and groom.

Aaron Michael Ameede, brother of the groom, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, served as Best Man. Groomsmen were Bradley James Ambrose, of Denver, Colorado, Ben Roumain Babin, II, godfather of the groom, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Kyle Chase Canfield, brother in law of the bride, of Houston, Texas, Justin Thomas Clark, of St. Gabriel, Louisiana, Walter Ross Doga, of Houston, Texas, Conrad Lee Gayle, of Gonzales, Louisiana, Jonathon Patrick Gillis, of Houston, Texas, Louis Michael Olinde, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jacques George Rodrigue, of New Orleans, Louisiana. Serving as ring bearers were Andrew Michael Amedee, Chase Kyle Canfield and Luke Thomas Canfield, nephews of the bride and groom.

The bride attended Memorial High School in Houston, Texas. She is a 2007 graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She is employed by Spring Branch Independen­t School District at Memorial Middle School teaching 6th grade science.

The groom attended Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is a 2006 graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and is a member of Kappa Sigma. He is employed as an account manager for Altec Industries.

Following a honeymoon in Grenada, the couple will make their home in Houston.
